Understanding the Power of Honoring God, Part 1
What Does it Mean to Honor God?
Honoring God should not be something we do as believers out of a sense of duty or to gain God's favor.
Honoring God should be a daily expression of recognition, respect, and gratitude. Honoring God is not propagated on what He does for us individually; Rather, we honor God for who He is and what He has done for humanity collectively.
God loved us before we claim we loved Him. How did He love us? By sacrificing His only Son, Jesus, for us.
John 3:16 NIV For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Romans 5:8 NIV But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
If not for His sacrifice on the Cross, we would still be held spiritually captive by our sins and be destined to spend eternity in damnation under the will of Satan.
What Does it Mean to Honor God?
To honor God means first and foremost that you recognize Him as the highest authority in heaven and on Earth and are fully submitted to Him.
